Level 1 students explore painting, drawing, type tools, and filters. File types, size and resolution may be inappropriate for intended use.

 

The artist uses a negative, inverted image with lens flair, and appears to use selections. Artist experiments with color and color interactions, hue and saturation, but uses few midtones.  Is there intention behind effects, for instance the nose color, or is it pure experimentation?  Can't see evidence of layering here.

To move up to Level 2, work would exhibit more control over contrast and focal points, selective color manipulations, and integrated experimentation.
