Request, Respond, Reply and Reflect

In-person conversations provide verbal and physical cues to let us known that our audience is in attendance. To keep a mental reminder that there are people on the giving and receiving ends, we have developed a process called --

Request-Respond-Reply-Reflect

A person or group Requests a conversation with the collaborative network.
Those interested in the conversation Respond with specifics that address the topic or piece of work at hand.
The original person Replies with more information, additional requests, or a Reflective statement about the dialog/design conversation.

TIPS
The responders need to be sensitive to the questions asked, staying focused on the specifics of the discussion.
The person originating the conversation is the moderator of the discussion. In order to keep a sense of mutual learning alive, it is important to Reply/Reflect so that other participants understand how their input has received/used. This provides closure to the discussion.
Short posts are more helpful than lengthy prose. This gives others a chance to discuss and build on what has been written.
